On request by a particular party/individual, the attestation of documents could be performed by the Embassy.

  • Documents which are issued by a country other than Sri Lanka, should be counter certified by the Ministry of Foreign affairs of the particular country. (Eg: If the document has been issued by a Norwegian authority, it should be countersigned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway)             
  • If the original document is in Norwegian language and to be used in Sri Lanka, applicants are advised to obtain an English translation of the particular document and submit the English version for Ministry's certification.
  • Sri Lankan documents should be counter certified by the Consular Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Colombo, before submitting for the Embassy's certification.
  • Please note that in the absence of such counter certification, the Embassy cannot accept any document for certification.
  • Applicant must be present at the Embassy with the Passport and Visa documents when submitting documents for attestation


The fee for the attestation of a documents is NOK 425. This amount can be paid over the counter or can be deposited to the Embassy Bank Account No.7058.05.77189 DNB. Please make sure to send a copy of the paid Bank slip along with relevant documents.
